About The Position

At SIXT, the People & Culture team ensures smooth operations, with payroll being central to this. As a Payroll Analyst, you will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing in the U.S. and Canada, maintaining data integrity, and providing essential reporting and insights for Finance and HR decision-making. This role operates within a hybrid work model from our U.S. office, fostering collaboration with cross-functional partners in a dynamic, international setting. We are seeking a detail-oriented payroll professional who excels in accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of payroll experience with significant exposure to both U.S. multi-state and Canadian multi-province payroll processing.
  • Experience with tax reconciliations and year-end filings.
  • Solid payroll accounting skills, including journal entries, GL reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close deliverables.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise HR/Payroll platform (e.g., Workday, UKG, or ADP).
  • Experience working within ERP/GL environments such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
  • Must have experience in ADP GlobalView.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel or Google Sheets (pivots, lookups, large datasets).
  • Detail-oriented and proactive.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to partner effectively with HR, Accounting, and external providers in a fast-moving, compliance-driven environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Canadian PCP designation (or in progress).
  • U.S. FPC/CPP certification.

Responsibilities

  • Execute end-to-end U.S. and Canadian payroll cycles, including regular, off-cycle, bonus, and stock runs, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong internal controls.
  • Prepare payroll journal entries, reconcile payroll-related GL accounts, and support month-end close activities, including flux analysis and accruals.
  • Build recurring and ad-hoc payroll reports covering headcount, labor cost, taxes, overtime, and KPIs, and deliver variance analysis with actionable insights to Finance and HR.
  • Manage U.S. federal, state, and local tax reconciliations and remittances.
  • Oversee Canadian statutory obligations, including CPP/QPP, EI, income tax, T4/T4A slips, and ROE support.
  • Ensure compliance with evolving U.S. and Canadian payroll legislation, translating regulatory changes into updated processes, system configurations, and communications.
  • Contribute to payroll system testing and improvement projects, supporting integrations and new functionality across platforms such as Workday, UKG, or ADP.
