About The Position

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for managing all payroll functions for Diversified Safety Services, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. This role may also assist with basic HR and accounting tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of payroll or bookkeeping experience
  • Familiarity with payroll software (e.g., QuickBooks Payroll, ADP, Paychex, Avionte or similar systems)
  • Basic understanding of payroll taxes and labor laws
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

Responsibilities

  • Process biweekly payroll for employees
  • Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions
  • Maintain accurate payroll and employee records
  • Manage direct deposits and payroll system updates
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations for all project locations
  • Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and payments to states
  • Process pay rate and tax changes
  • Administer payroll-related benefits deductions alongside HR
  • Reconcile payroll reports with accounting records
  • Verify year-end tax forms (W-2s, 1099s)
  • Respond to employee payroll questions in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist with basic bookkeeping or HR administrative tasks as needed
