About The Position

A multi-state behavioral health and social services organization is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to support complex, high-volume payroll operations across 500+ employees.This position requires strong systems knowledge, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to manage recurring payroll cycles within a multi-site environment. This fully remote role reports directly to the Payroll Manager and will oversee payroll processing for a portfolio of 4–5 program sites/entities , ensuring accuracy, compliance, and financial integrity across multiple operational units. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who understands the operational and compliance depth required in a regulated environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of payroll experience
  • Experience processing payroll for organizations with 1,000+ employees
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll compliance and labor laws
  • Experience with a Human Capital Management (HCM) platform
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Comfortable working in a fully remote, highly collaborative environment
  • Willingness to work overtime during bi-weekly payroll processing cycles
  • Must reside in CA, AZ, NV, OR, or CO

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and process bi-weekly payroll cycles
  • Maintain payroll GL mapping and department allocations
  • Support timekeeping processes and partner with program leaders
  • Process manual checks and direct deposit payroll activity
  • Prepare payroll-related general ledger entries
  • Administer 403(b) and 457(b) retirement plan payroll reporting
  • Prepare quarterly payroll tax filings and assist with W-2 processing
  • Participate in Workers’ Compensation and annual audits
  • Respond to payroll verification and employee inquiries
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws
