About The Position

The Payment Posting Specialist is responsible for posting and applying all payments received from insurance companies and patients into the billing software. This role also involves balancing patient financial accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting at month-end. The position requires promoting the organization's mission, values, and vision, providing excellent customer service while adhering to HIPAA requirements, and ensuring compliance with insurance standards and regulations. The ability to pay close attention to details is crucial. This job description may be revised as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent with combination of education and work experience, required.
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Payment posting
• Knowledgeable in the field of Substance Abuse treatment.
• Relevant computer software and hardware applications proficiency – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Electronic Billing Systems and/or other scheduling applications; Collaborate MD
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
• Manage multiple tasks and set priorities.
• Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills.
• Ability to work accurately, with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Posting and applying all payments from the insurance company and Patient payments into the billing software.
• Balancing patient financial accounts to ensure all payments are balanced for month end reporting.
• Promote the mission, values, and vision of the organization.
• Provide excellent customer service for clients; practices confidentiality and privacy protocols in accordance HIPAA requirements.
• Ensure all required insurance standards and regulations are met.
• Performs other duties as required.
