About The Position

The GoldStar Trust Company (GTC) Paying Agent Specialist is responsible for all GTC deposits and distribution transactions timeliness and accuracy. This is an entry-level role that offers hands-on experience to develop new skills, and grow within the GoldStar Trust. Requirements

  • High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc.
  • 7 - 11 months related experience and training.
  • Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, notes, letters and memos; Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and understand general business/company related articles and professional journals; Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.
  • Intermediate: 10-Key, Accounting, Alphanumeric Data Entry, Database, Payroll Systems, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing
  • Close vision (use of a computer, equipment, or any other work duties that require clear vision within two feet or less).
  • Level 2: Moderate diversity, low physical. Work activities which allow for a moderate amount of diversity in the performance of tasks which are not as varied as those positions relating to Degree 1.
  • Must have the ability to interpret documents such as operating instructions and procedure manuals
  • Must have the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
  • Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Must be detail oriented, strong written and verbal skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Must have the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Internet, e-mail and a working knowledge of accounting software-strong Excel knowledge is required
  • Must have working knowledge of accounting principles to include G/L processing

Responsibilities

  • Performs data entry for all inbound and outbound transactions via check, ach, and wire.
  • Ensures accurate information is entered in operating system regarding the administration of paying agent accounts.
  • Reviews assigned reports to identify and resolve issues.
  • Reads and interprets legal contracts.
  • Communicates regularly with external business entity personnel.
  • Researches and resolves internal and external inquiries related to paying agent services.
  • Sets up new accounts as received or needed.
  • Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
