Payer Enterprise Sales Executive - Hunter

Veradigm•Remote - US NC, NC
•$142,000 - $188,150•Remote

About The Position

This position is responsible for new business acquisition across the Veradigm Payer Products portfolio, selling into health plans, managed care organizations, and other risk-bearing entities within an assigned territory or named prospect list. The Enterprise Sales Executive is a hunter: the measure of the role is order intake from new logos, not net-new lines of business within existing plans or retention of the installed base. The role sells the breadth of the payer portfolio — from Analytics to Clinical Data Exchange to Provider Network Management to Submissions — leading with whichever business problem opens the executive conversation and expanding from there. The role operates with significant autonomy and is fully accountable for territory strategy, pipeline generation, forecast accuracy, and quota attainment.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in enterprise sales
  • Experience selling into health plans, managed care organizations, or other risk-bearing entities
  • Proven ability to generate pipeline independently through outbound prospecting, industry events, executive networking, and partner and consultant channels
  • Experience opening and developing C-suite relationships
  • Ability to qualify opportunities against business pressures such as Stars and HEDIS performance, risk-adjustment revenue accuracy, medical loss ratio, administrative cost, and interoperability and prior authorization mandates
  • Experience constructing solutions spanning software, data, and services
  • Proficiency in managing the full strategic sales cycle, including discovery, demonstration, business case development, pricing, proposal, and negotiation
  • Experience navigating payer procurement, security review, privacy, and contracting processes
  • Experience managing responses to RFPs, RFIs, and consultant-led evaluations
  • Ability to provide timely and accurate forecasts and communicate risk and upside to sales leadership
  • Proficiency in maintaining territory and opportunity plans in Salesforce, keeping stage, close date, and value current
  • Deep working knowledge of the payer market, including CMS and NCQA program mechanics, competitive positioning, pricing dynamics, and buying cycles
  • Ability to transition closed accounts cleanly to Client Success, Operations & Support

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed the annual order intake quota for the assigned payer territory or named prospect list, and manage TCO against prospect’s budget
  • Generate pipeline independently through outbound prospecting, industry events, executive networking, and partner and consultant channels; own top-of-funnel activity rather than relying on inbound or marketing-sourced leads
  • Open and develop C-suite relationships at plans where Veradigm has no incumbent position — including Chief Medical Officer, Chief Actuary, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Information Officer, and quality, Stars, and risk adjustment leadership
  • Qualify opportunities against each plan’s real business pressure: Stars and HEDIS performance, risk-adjustment revenue accuracy, medical loss ratio, administrative cost, and interoperability and prior authorization mandates
  • Construct solutions spanning software, data, and services that address the prospect’s specific problem, collaborating with Solutions Architects, Product, and Delivery to validate scope and feasibility
  • Manage the full strategic sales cycle — discovery, demonstration, business case development, pricing, proposal, and negotiation to signature — across relatively longer multi-stakeholder cycles
  • Navigate payer procurement, security review, privacy, and contracting processes, coordinating Legal, InfoSec, and Finance to move enterprise agreements to close
  • Manage response to RFPs, RFIs, and consultant-led evaluations with differentiated, well-evidenced submissions
  • Provide timely and accurate forecasts by product, timeline, and value; communicate risk and upside to sales leadership clearly and without surprises
  • Maintain high-quality territory and opportunity plans in Salesforce, keeping stage, close date, and value current, and submit sales reports covering booked volume, pipeline, and areas of proposed opportunity
  • Maintain deep working knowledge of the payer market — CMS and NCQA program mechanics, competitive positioning, pricing dynamics, and buying cycles — to establish credibility with executive stakeholders
  • Transition closed accounts cleanly to the Client Success, Operations & Support, ensuring commitments made during the sale are documented and achievable
