About The Position

Wausau Tile is seeking a hardworking, energetic, quality- and safety-minded individual to support production operations within our Paving Department. This role primarily involves operating one of the two Vibro Takeoff lines to meet quality control requirements. The position may also involve working across multiple stations, including Blaster, Seal, Grinder, CNC, Vibro Takeoff, and Saws. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, able to follow technical specifications and safety protocols, and comfortable working independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.

  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, reaching, squatting, twisting, and kneeling.
  • Repetitive motions involving the hands, wrists, shoulders, back, and neck.
  • Lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds in various directions.
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders or stairs as needed.
  • Ability to operate basic computer systems for production tracking and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inventory transactions using MES (Manufacturing Execution System).
  • Operate, adjust, and clean production machinery to produce a variety of precast concrete pavers.
  • Rotate across multiple production work centers as needed.
  • Monitor production quality and make necessary adjustments to meet specification standards.
  • Follow production paperwork, including blueprints, specification sheets, schedules, and work instructions.
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality output of various paver styles, colors, and sizes.
  • Set up machines for daily or shift-based production runs.
  • Operate machinery efficiently and troubleshoot minor issues.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized workstations.
  • Assist in areas such as blasting, sealing, grinding, cutting, and CNC routing as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production status, equipment concerns, and material needs.
  • Support other production activities and work centers as assigned.
  • Ensure products meet established quality control standards throughout each stage of production.
  • Identify and communicate quality concerns promptly.
  • Collaborate with inspection and quality control teams to address deviations and maintain product standards.
  • Adhere to established safe work practices and wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Participate in ongoing safety initiatives and follow all company safety guidelines.
  • Take personal responsibility for their own safety and the safety of co-workers.
  • Promptly report unsafe conditions, hazards, or incidents to management.
