About The Position

Primoris Heavy Civil is seeking a seasoned Paving Superintendent for the Belton, TX area. This is a hands-on field leadership role responsible for high-impact heavy civil paving projects, including concrete slipform paving, across multiple cities and job sites. The role involves managing crews, operating equipment, maintaining tight schedules, and collaborating with project teams to ensure project excellence. This position requires regular travel to project sites in Belton, Laredo, Pecos, Waco, and other locations.

Requirements

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level).
  • Must have experience in concrete slipform paving, curb, and gutter.
  • Gomaco machine experience is required.
  • Experience running multiple crews and projects.
  • Must be willing to travel to project sites.
  • Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (assistance recommended for heavier loads).
  • Work extended hours on foot, including on uneven or rough surfaces.
  • Climb ladders, kneel, crawl, or work at heights and in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise all paving activities on site, ensuring work meets project specifications, schedules, and quality standards.
  • Lead and coordinate crews involved in grading, base preparation, asphalt, and/or concrete paving operations.
  • Oversee and manage slipform paving equipment setup, production rates, and finish quality (if applicable).
  • Monitor job progress and adjust operations to meet or exceed schedule and budget targets.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and conduct daily job hazard analyses (JHAs).
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve field issues.
  • Manage equipment, material deliveries, and daily crew assignments.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and field documentation.
  • Train and mentor crew members to build a skilled, safety-focused workforce.
  • Communicate with inspectors, clients, and DOT officials as needed.
