About The Position

Wilco Contractors Northwest Inc. is a leader in civil construction, offering a range of services including earthworks, grading, underground utility installation, landscape development, and environmental enhancements. We pride ourselves on delivering complex projects with precision and professionalism. We are seeking Paving Stone Labourers to our team. This seasonal position will complete work in the Edmonton area. All candidates must have reliable transportation to travel to different job sites in various locations throughout greater Edmonton and surrounding municipalities. Successful candidates will be required to perform tasks involving physical labour at open space construction projects and sites, and will be required to operate a variety of hand and power tools. We are looking for individuals who are safety-conscious, reliable, and able to work in a team-oriented environment. Position is 10-12 hours per day, Monday through Saturday.

Requirements

Experience in paving stone installation or similar construction work
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Minimum Class 5 drivers license is mandatory. Candidates must have their own vehicle (public transit is not available).
Strong communication skills. The ability to understand verbal safety instructions in English is required for this role.
Knowledge of safety protocols and willingness to follow them at all times.
Bring a positive "Safety First Attitude" every day.
Physical stamina and ability to work in outdoor environments.
CSTS 2020 is an employment requirement (May be provided)
CSA approved steel toed boots & Mobile Smart Phone.

Responsibilities

Prepare and grade installation areas to ensure a solid, long-lasting base for paving stone projects.
Install paving stones to detailed project specifications and design layouts, delivering high-quality finished work.
Ensure precise alignment, spacing, and leveling to achieve a professional, visually appealing result.
Mix and place base materials such as sand or concrete as required to support proper installation and durability.
Lay sod or seed. Plant shrubs and trees.
Operation of small packers, shoveling, heaving lifting, etc.
Load and unload construction materials from trucks and move them to the worksite.
Clean up work areas and remove debris. Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
Performing regular maintenance tasks, such as mowing, watering, and weeding
Follow all safety protocols and ensure adherence to company policies.
Participate in training sessions to enhance skills & knowledge related to job functions
