About The Position

O’Hanlon Paving, a member of The Fath Group, is seeking an experienced Paving Foreman, including those with experience as an Asphalt Foreman, Asphalt Paving Foreman, or Paving Supervisor, to lead their mainline paving crew. This is a full-time salaried position with year-round employment, offering competitive pay and benefits. The company has been shaping Edmonton’s roadways for over 70 years and is involved in major City and regional infrastructure projects. The work is primarily within Edmonton and surrounding areas with minimal travel.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five years experience in road construction
  • A minimum of three years experience supervising paving crews
  • Experience operating pavers, rollers, and screeds
  • Strong understanding of asphalt paving processes, grades, slopes, and municipal paving standards
  • Valid Class 5 drivers’ licence with a clean abstract
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends when required
  • Strong communication skills and high attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • WHMIS, CSTS or RSTS, and First Aid
  • Experience with City of Edmonton and Alberta Transportation specifications is an asset
  • Google Suite (Docs and Sheets) experience is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the mainline paving crew working on municipal, subdivision, commercial, and overlay projects
  • Operate and oversee safe use of paving equipment, including paver, screed, and roller
  • Ensure high quality asphalt laydown, meeting mat quality and compaction standards
  • Coordinate daily production with the superintendent
  • Complete required paperwork accurately each day
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture, and ensure all crew members follow company and provincial safety procedures
  • Train, mentor, and support crew members to maintain a positive, accountable team environment
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
