About The Position

Dewberry is seeking a Construction Paving Inspector to work on NJDOT projects in the greater New Jersey area. To qualify, candidates must have prior construction inspection experience on NJDOT projects and possess NJDOT Site Manager experience. Additional requirements include excellent communications skills, ability to read and interpret plans, and specifications, ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations. Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years prior bridge construction inspection experience on NJDOT projects required.
  • Experience of Milling and paving work required
  • NJDOT Site Manager required.
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations.
  • Physically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and terrains.
  • Ability to repetitively stoop, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 25 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes, in addition to ability to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10 or 30 hour certification preferred.
  • NJSAT, ACI Field Grade I Technician, ACI-CCTC and Rutgers TCC certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Construction office and project administration
  • Document management and electronic processing of field reports, technical data, Pre-Activity meetings, and materials test reports.
  • Daily document control and management of contract documents
  • Prepare meeting agendas and minutes for distribution
  • Prepare and process RFI’s, submittals, progress pay applications, extra work billings, and contract change order
  • Support CM project managers with coordination and scheduling of field activities.
  • Copy, edit, and proofread proposals
  • Develop marketing materials, proposal content, and qualification packages; create presentations for CM pursuit interviews
  • Assist with processing CM group invoicing
  • May coach and/or guide a subordinate group.
