Pavement Marking Truck Operator
About The Position
Helix Traffic Solutions is a national leader in traffic control, work zone safety, and roadway infrastructure services. Road Runner Safety Services, a proud member of the Helix Traffic Solutions network, is seeking a Pavement Marking Truck Operator for their location in Springfield, MO. This is a full-time, in-person role where the operator will be responsible for safely operating striping trucks and related equipment, applying various pavement markings, performing maintenance on equipment, and ensuring projects are completed in compliance with specifications. The role involves working closely with the Striping Manager to meet daily project plans and production goals, and contributing to a strong safety culture.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with pavement marking with waterborne striping truck operation
- Proven experience operating pavement striping trucks with minimal supervision.
- Strong understanding of pavement marking applications, materials, and industry best practices.
- Ability to read plans, follow layouts, and perform accurate measurements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work closely with the Striping Manager and field crews.
- Dependable, safety-focused, and self-motivated.
Responsibilities
- Independently and safely operate striping trucks and related pavement marking equipment.
- Work directly with the Striping Manager to execute daily project plans and production goals.
- Assist with pavement marking layout, measurements, and project setup.
- Apply pavement markings including waterborne paint, thermoplastic, epoxy, tape, symbols, arrows, legends, parking lot markings, and roadway striping.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections, routine maintenance, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting of striping equipment.
- Load, unload, and manage project materials, tools, and traffic control devices.
- Assist with maintaining accurate pavement marking logs, equipment records, and project documentation.
- Monitor work quality and report equipment, safety, or production concerns to the Striping Manager.
- Support crew training efforts by demonstrating proper operating procedures and safe work practices.
- Complete projects in compliance with DOT specifications, company standards, and customer requirements.
- Follow all company safety policies and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned
