Patrol Officer

City of Cortez, COCortez, CO
$25 - $29Onsite

About The Position

As a Patrol Officer for the City of Cortez, you help maintain public safety by enforcing laws and local ordinances and responding to community needs. You’ll take action professionally, document incidents clearly, and communicate effectively with the public and partner agencies. Your shift starts with a briefing and equipment check, then you’re out in Cortez—sometimes handling back-to-back calls, other times staying alert through quiet patrol time. You’ll meet people on their best and worst days, listen, de-escalate when possible, and help connect community members to the right next step. Between radio traffic and paperwork, you’ll reset, refocus, and stay ready for the moment something changes—ending the day knowing your presence helped keep neighbors and property safer.
