About The Position

This is a full-time Patrol Deputy position with the Green County Sheriff's Office. The role involves traffic and criminal law enforcement, supervision of inmates, court services, and civil process. Applicants must be available to work a rotating 12-hour schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with a schedule that allows for every other Friday-Saturday-Sunday off. The starting pay is $29.47 per hour, with a shift differential for night shifts. Lateral transfers may start at up to $33.81 depending on years of service. Additional pay is available for various special certifications and assignments.

Requirements

Must have completed a 720-hour law enforcement academy program certified by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board (LESB)
Minimum age: 21
U.S. citizen
No unpardoned felony convictions, nor any offense that could be punished as a felony in Wisconsin
No misdemeanor convictions for domestic violence as defined in 18 USC 921(a)(33) or domestic abuse under Wis. Stats. 968.075(1)(a)
Must be of good character
Must be free from any physical, emotional, or mental conditions that would negatively affect law enforcement duties
Ability to meet physical performance requirements
Vision correctable to 20/20
Valid driver’s license
Basic computer literacy
Good written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated and have the ability to work in a team environment
After probation, residency within 40 miles of the Green County Sheriff’s Office
High school diploma or equivalent
Must have 60 college credits and Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification, or qualify for out-of-state or military law enforcement reciprocity
