About The Position

Provides safe and efficient transport of patients, equipment, and miscellaneous supplies within the hospital. This role involves assisting in training new hires, communicating with other departments to assess transport needs, and interacting with patients and customers to ensure their needs are met. The transporter must be familiar with the hospital's physical layout and patient testing areas, and will use the Tele-Tracking System for data entry and dispatch information. Proper body mechanics for lifting and moving patients are essential, as is understanding and using the Patient Identification and Alert Process. Fit testing for N95 masks is also required. Additional responsibilities include performing other duties as assigned, complying with all policies and standards, and adhering to requirements for safely and securely maintaining Protected Health Information (PHI).

Responsibilities

Provides safe efficient transport of patients, equipment, and miscellaneous supplies.
Performs transport duties as needed and assist in training new hires.
Communicates with other departments to assess their transport needs.
Required to interact with patients and customers to ensure patient/Customers’ needs are met.
Must be oriented to physical layout of the hospital and locations of patient testing areas.
Performs data entry and receives dispatch information via Tele-Tracking System.
Must use proper body mechanics for lifting and/or moving patients.
Understands and uses the Patient Identification and Alert Process.
Must pass fit testing for N95 mask.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.
Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
