About The Position

Highland Hospital is seeking a per diem Patient Transporter. Hours are Saturday and Sunday from 2pm-10:30pm. This role involves transporting patients via wheelchairs, stretchers, or as an escort for ambulatory patients, to and from various hospital departments. The transporter will also assist clinical personnel with patient transfers, pick up and deliver specimens and orders, and maintain accurate transport logs.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED preferred

Responsibilities

• Transport patients via wheelchairs, stretcher or as an escort in cases where the patient is ambulatory, to and from clinical, ancillary and support department areas as directed by the PTR, appropriately closing tasks and while observing all safety regulations.
• Assist clinical personnel in transferring patients to and/or from beds or chairs to and/or from wheelchair or stretcher.
• Pick up specimens, cultures, orders and requisitions and deliver items to appropriate destination.
• Maintain accurate log of all transports.
