About The Position

The Patient Transporter is responsible for the transportation of patients and patient related items throughout the Medical Center and surrounding facilities. These services may be provided for both the LLUMC and LLUCH hospitals. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience accepted in lieu of education.
  • Must successfully complete training by the end of the introductory period.
  • Able to speak clearly to gather/dispense information.
  • Able to use push/pull gurneys or wheelchairs or beds.
  • Able to use good hand and eye coordination.
  • Able to maintain finger dexterity to hold charts, etc.
  • Able to read, write legibly.
  • Able to speak in English with professional quality.
  • Able to use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Able to operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position.
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others.
  • Able to work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure.
  • Able to collaborate and accept direction.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone.
  • Able to think critically.
  • Able to manage multiple assignments effectively.
  • Able to organize and prioritize workload.
  • Able to work well under pressure.

  • Valid Driver's License required at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) preferred.
