About The Position

This position assists and supports all departments by transporting patients to and from units and departments using wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds. The role is based on-site at Lourdes Health System, 1600 Haddon Ave, and is full-time, with 40 weekly hours scheduled across four 10-hour shifts. The schedule includes every third weekend; weekday hours are 1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Saturday hours are 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Sunday hours are 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Patient Transporter supports safe, comfortable patient movement, maintains transport equipment, and coordinates with other transporters and clinical departments to keep transport operations running smoothly.

Requirements

Demonstrate a positive demeanor.
Have strong verbal communication skills.
Be able to handle potentially stressful situations and multitask.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience.
CPR certification.

Responsibilities

Transport patients to and from departments and units, ensuring appropriate patient identification, comfort, and safety.
Assist with lifting, moving, and positioning patients in beds and wheelchairs, and provide patient information as needed.
Care for and clean wheelchairs and stretchers, and initiate appropriate action when repairs are required.
Check oxygen supplies and replenish them or change regulators as necessary.
Coordinate with other transporters based on patient schedules to support smooth transport operations.
Communicate patient information to nurses and diagnostic testing departments as necessary.
