The Patient Transporter is responsible for retrieving medical records, laboratory results, supplies, and medications. This role involves notifying nursing staff when a patient is leaving or returning to the unit, ensuring the patient's chart accompanies them during transport, and completing all transports within assigned time parameters. The transporter also collects and safely delivers specimens and blood products to the appropriate department, checks oxygen cylinders for fullness and safety before transport, and accurately checks patients in and out of the patient transport system. Additionally, the position involves performing supply restocking, gathering, cleaning, and disinfecting patient care equipment and other reusable items, and adhering to all University and unit-level policies and procedures while safeguarding University assets.
