About The Position

Saint Luke’s East is seeking a part-time Patient Transporter to join their team. The Service Associate functions as a Patient Transporter, moving patients via wheelchair or car throughout the hospital for various reasons, utilizing manual or computerized job assignments. This role requires adherence to infection prevention techniques, patient transfer techniques, and knowledge of appropriate routes to ensure safe and efficient patient movement. Good communication with nursing clinical staff is essential, as is recognizing when to ask for help or continued guidance. The transporter will also maintain and protect the integrity of patients' tubes, lines, and collection devices, and will move patient valuables and equipment.

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of applicable experience.
• Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross certification.

Responsibilities

• Move patients by wheelchair or car throughout the hospital.
