Requirements
- Less than 1 year of applicable experience
Responsibilities
- Move patients by wheel chair or car throughout the hospital for various reasons
- Utilize infection prevention techniques
- Utilize patient transfer techniques
- Utilize knowledge of appropriate routes to assure patients are safely and efficiently moved
- Communicate effectively with the nursing clinical staff
- Recognize when they need to ask for help or continued guidance
- Maintain and protect the integrity of patient’s tubes, lines, and collection devices
- Move patient valuables and equipment
