About The Position

Requirements

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions to safely and effectively perform transport duties
  • Ability to operate and handle transport equipment appropriately
  • May be required to enter areas where medications are stored and transport medications between departments in accordance with established guidelines
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required within 30 days of hire (must meet current AHA standards, including both written and skills components)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Clearance (with renewal as required)
  • Act 33 Clearance (with renewal as required)
  • Act 34 Clearance (with renewal as required)
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance (with renewal as required)

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport patients and necessary equipment between units, treatment areas, and departments
  • Deliver supplies, medications, and equipment accurately and on time (including proper handoff to nursing staff)
  • Maintain and disinfect transport equipment to ensure a clean and safe environment
  • Accurately document transport activities using tracking systems and logs
  • Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and healthcare team members to provide a positive experience
  • Report any issues or unusual activity to leadership promptly
