Requirements

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions to safely and effectively perform transport duties
Ability to operate and handle transport equipment appropriately
May be required to enter areas where medications are stored and transport medications between departments in accordance with established guidelines
Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required within 30 days of hire (must meet current AHA standards, including both written and skills components)
Act 31 Child Abuse Clearance (with renewal as required)
Act 33 Clearance (with renewal as required)
Act 34 Clearance (with renewal as required)
Act 73 FBI Clearance (with renewal as required)

Responsibilities

Safely transport patients and necessary equipment between units, treatment areas, and departments
Deliver supplies, medications, and equipment accurately and on time (including proper handoff to nursing staff)
Maintain and disinfect transport equipment to ensure a clean and safe environment
Accurately document transport activities using tracking systems and logs
Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and healthcare team members to provide a positive experience
Report any issues or unusual activity to leadership promptly
