About The Position

Provides safe and efficient transport of patients, equipment, and miscellaneous supplies within the hospital. This role involves assisting in training new hires, communicating with other departments to understand their transport needs, and interacting with patients and customers to ensure their needs are met. The transporter must be familiar with the hospital's physical layout and the locations of patient testing areas. Responsibilities include performing data entry and receiving dispatch information via the Tele-Tracking System, using proper body mechanics for lifting and moving patients, and understanding and using the Patient Identification and Alert Process. Additionally, the role requires passing fit testing for an N95 mask, performing other duties as assigned, complying with all policies and standards, and abiding by requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI).

Requirements

High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
Must pass fit testing for N95 mask.
Must use proper body mechanics for lifting and/or moving patients.
Understands and uses the Patient Identification and Alert Process.

Nice To Haves

less than 1 year Basic patient care experience
Knowledge and handling of transport equipment (beds, wheelchairs, carts, oxygen) (Preferred proficiency)
Basic Life Support (BLS) (Preferred)
