About The Position

Transports patients, specimens, and equipment throughout the facility. This role requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work under minimal supervision in a stressful environment. The transporter must be able to take appropriate action when necessary.

Requirements

• Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of 2 years relevant experience preferred.
• High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed to designated sites as requested, including patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, monitors, and other equipment.
• Provides continuous oxygen to patients by setting the oxygen tanks to the same level already being provided.
• Assists patients with entering and exiting vehicles, including transfer from or to wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Delivers equipment and specimens to requesting team members or department.
• Assists team members with removal of deceased bodies from units and transport to morgue.
• Greets and provides information and direction to patients and visitors.
