Transports patients and equipment throughout the Hospitals and Clinics. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth flow of patient care and services within the facility. The Patient Transporter will be responsible for moving patients, their belongings, and deceased individuals to and from assigned departments, as well as assisting floor staff in preparing patients for transport. Additionally, they will handle the transportation of specific patient-related equipment and beds, utilize technology systems for equipment deliveries, and manage rental equipment entries into the appropriate software. A key part of the role involves wheelchair management, including identifying wheelchairs for cleaning and repair, transporting them to designated areas, and maintaining their availability in assigned staging locations. Assignments are received through the Transport Tracker XT Program. The transporter must properly identify patients before transport, ensure they have identification, and assist patients in and out of vehicles and transport equipment. Professional interaction with patients is expected, avoiding conversations that exclude them, and collaborating with other healthcare team members to facilitate patient care. Maintaining eye contact, greeting patients, and communicating the transport destination are also important aspects of the role. Work is typically performed in a clinical environment, and the employee is accountable for job-specific obligations and compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.
