About The Position

The Patient Transporter assists patients by transporting them to and from Radiology, and around the clinic. This role involves greeting and guiding visitors and patients, transporting patients to and from the radiology area, and providing support and encouragement to patients and their families. The transporter also moves equipment and supplies, maintains a safe work environment, and processes x-ray orders. Additional duties include importing and burning x-ray images, assisting with patient movement, problem-solving basic computer and x-ray process issues, training new transporters, and assisting with room preparation and supply stocking.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Extraordinary customer service skills.
• Must be customer-focused.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels (patients, internal/external customers).

Responsibilities

• Cordially greet and guide visitors and patient
• Transport patients to and from the radiology area
• Comforts patients and their families by offering support and encouragement
• Transports equipment and supplies as needed
• Maintains a safe, secure and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with federal and state regulations
• Requires regular and predictable attendance
• Processes and Input x-ray orders in Radiology Programs and EMR
• Import incoming Xray disk images
• Burn Xray Images onto disks for patients
• Grab patients from cast room as needed for x-rays
• Greets patients. Provides compassion.
• Prompt patient movement throughout the Radiology Dept and Clinic
• Helps patients in & out of wheelchair as needed
• Problem solves basic and routine computer problems and x-ray processes
• Trains all incoming Patient Transporters on order entry and patient chart charging
• Assist with room preparation/disinfection and stocking supplies
