About The Position

Under general supervision of the Central Transport Manager, this role is responsible for transporting patients and patient-related materials throughout the hospital campus, primarily in outpatient clinical areas like the Fain Health Center (FHC). Requirements

• Ability to follow written and oral instructions in English.
• Education normally attained in secondary school levels.
• Effective interpersonal communication skills.
• Physical ability to perform essential duties.
• Demonstrate knowledge, visual acuity, and skills necessary to provide correct Patient identification (check names on patient bracelets, pager, and ticket to ride).

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience preferred.
• 2-4 weeks of on-the-job training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients and materials within the hospital and to/from outside facilities.
• Transports patients via wheelchair, bed, or stretcher to and from clinical and ancillary areas.
• Assists clinical personnel in transferring patients to or from beds, chairs, wheelchairs, and/or stretchers.
• Supports department areas as directed by the dispatcher.
• Collects and signs off specimens, cultures, orders, and requisitions, and delivers items to appropriate destinations.
• Delivers audiovisual equipment.
• Maintains established department policies and procedures related to quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control, including cleaning and storing equipment upon job completion.
• Performs other related duties as required.
