About The Position

Provides safe and efficient transport of patients, equipment, and miscellaneous supplies within the hospital. This role involves assisting in training new hires, communicating with other departments to assess transport needs, and interacting with patients and customers to ensure their needs are met. The transporter must be familiar with the hospital's physical layout and patient testing areas. Responsibilities include data entry and receiving dispatch information via the Tele-Tracking System, using proper body mechanics for lifting and moving patients, and understanding/using the Patient Identification and Alert Process. Additionally, the role requires passing fit testing for an N95 mask and adhering to all policies and standards, including those for safely maintaining Protected Health Information (PHI).

Requirements

High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
Must pass fit testing for N95 mask.
Must use proper body mechanics for lifting and/or moving patients.
Understands and uses the Patient Identification and Alert Process.

Nice To Haves

less than 1 year Basic patient care experience
Knowledge and handling of transport equipment (beds, wheelchairs, carts, oxygen) (Preferred proficiency)
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) (Preferred)

Required to interact with patients and customers to ensure patient/Customers’ needs are met.
Must be oriented to physical layout of the hospital and locations of patient testing areas.
Performs data entry and receives dispatch information via Tele-Tracking System.
Must use proper body mechanics for lifting and/or moving patients.
Understands and uses the Patient Identification and Alert Process.
Must pass fit testing for N95 mask.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.
Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
