About The Position

Saint Luke’s East is seeking a part-time Patient Transporter to join their team. The Service Associate, functioning as a Patient Transporter, will move patients via wheelchair or car throughout the hospital for various reasons, utilizing manual or computerized job assignments. This role requires good communication with nursing clinical staff, maintaining the integrity of patient's tubes, lines, and collection devices, and moving patient valuables and equipment.

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of applicable experience.

• Recognizes when they need to ask for help or continued guidance.

Responsibilities

• Move patients by wheelchair or car throughout the hospital for various reasons.
• Utilize infection prevention techniques, patient transfer techniques, and knowledge of appropriate routes to assure patients are safely and efficiently moved.
• Maintain and protect the integrity of patient’s tubes, lines, and collection devices.
• Move patient valuables and equipment.
