About The Position

Transports patients, specimens, and equipment throughout the facility. This role supports Owensboro Health’s Mission, Vision, and Core Commitments by ensuring efficient and safe patient transport. The job requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work under minimal supervision in a stressful environment. Requirements

• BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment.
• High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher preferred.
• Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of 2 years relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed to designated sites as requested, including patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, monitors, and other equipment.
• Provides continuous oxygen to patients by setting the oxygen tanks to the same level already being provided.
• Assists patients with entering and exiting vehicles, including transfer from or to wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Delivers equipment and specimens to requesting team members or department.
• Assists team members with removal of deceased bodies from units and transport to morgue.
• Greets and provides information and direction to patients and visitors.
