About The Position

Provides safe and efficient transport of patients, equipment, and miscellaneous supplies within the hospital. This role involves communicating with other departments to assess transport needs, interacting with patients and customers to ensure their needs are met, and performing data entry via the Tele-Tracking System. The transporter must be familiar with the hospital's physical layout and patient testing areas, use proper body mechanics for lifting and moving patients, and understand the Patient Identification and Alert Process. Additionally, the role requires passing fit testing for an N95 mask and adhering to policies regarding the secure maintenance of Protected Health Information (PHI).

  • High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
  • Must use proper body mechanics for lifting and/or moving patients.
  • Understands and uses the Patient Identification and Alert Process.

Responsibilities

  • Provides safe efficient transport of patients, equipment, and miscellaneous supplies.
  • Performs transport duties as needed and assist in training new hires.
  • Communicates with other departments to assess their transport needs.
  • Required to interact with patients and customers to ensure patient/Customers’ needs are met.
  • Must be oriented to physical layout of the hospital and locations of patient testing areas.
  • Performs data entry and receives dispatch information via Tele-Tracking System.
  • Must use proper body mechanics for lifting and/or moving patients.
  • Understands and uses the Patient Identification and Alert Process.
  • Must pass fit testing for N95 mask.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
