Provides safe and efficient transport of patients, equipment, and miscellaneous supplies within the hospital. This role involves assisting in training new hires, communicating with other departments to understand their transport needs, and interacting with patients and customers to ensure their needs are met. The transporter must be familiar with the hospital's physical layout and the locations of patient testing areas. Responsibilities include performing data entry and receiving dispatch information via the Tele-Tracking System, using proper body mechanics for lifting and moving patients, and understanding/using the Patient Identification and Alert Process. Additionally, the role requires passing fit testing for an N95 mask. Other duties include performing other assigned tasks, complying with all policies and standards, and adhering to requirements for safely and securely maintaining Protected Health Information (PHI) through annual training, the UH Code of Conduct, and UH policies and procedures.
