Requirements

High School Degree
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)
Strong Verbal Communication and Writing Skills
Ability to Pass a CPR Course
Ability to Effectively use a Two Way Radio
Trained in CPR
Responsible for the handling/transporting of medication

Nice To Haves

Up to 1 year experience in a related field

Responsibilities

Responsible for the transportation of patients to and from various areas, including but not limited to nursing units, procedure areas, testing areas, therapy, and laboratory areas.
Provides assistance to patients arriving and departing from the hospital, specimens, supplies, medication, and other related items to appropriate hospital and clinical locations.
Assists in the physical movement of patients to and from bed and/or equipment.
Exhibits professional image and behavior toward patients, visitors, physicians, and employees, creating a positive impression consistent with professional etiquette.
Accepts the next assignment on floor or in a timely manner after completing an assignment. Does not go idle wasting time in-between runs.
Is always approachable while being addressed by the dispatcher/lead with other duties as assigned and clocks in/out and breaks in a timely manner.
Facilitate patient and supply movement within the time standard set by this department.
Transport patients and supplies to and from various destinations observing department policies and procedures.
Exhibit Service Excellence set by TriHealth and laid out in the Service Standards Agreements.
Acts as a good steward in terms of care and condition of equipment and supplies.
Cleans and maintains equipment per departmental policy, following infection control guidelines.
Works to maintain the integrity and functioning of equipment and supplies.
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of clean and sterile procedures in the use of medical equipment.
