About The Position

Advanced Medical Transport (AMT) is seeking full-time Patient Transport Technicians for its Illinois Patient Transfer (IPT) team in Champaign. This role is responsible for the compassionate, safe, and efficient transfer of adult behavioral health patients between facilities. The IPT team supports hospitals, patients, and families across Illinois. This position is based in Champaign with variable shifts and alternating weekends. Transports are assigned throughout the scheduled shift, and technicians often work past their scheduled end times.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Valid Illinois Driver's license required
Ability to bend, pull, push, and lift up to 25 pounds (subject to physical exam)
Successful completion of AMTs Management of Aggressive Behavior Training

Responsibilities

Supervise patients during transportation
Provide proper de-escalation and aggression prevention techniques as required
Transports select MedValet patients as needed
Assist facility staff with escorting both the patient and belongings to and from the vehicle
Assures completion and accuracy of all AMT and patient contact paperwork
Responsible for all equipment and supplies per AMT vehicle check-off sheet and inventory requirements
Maintain current, State of Illinois driver's license
Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times
Present and promote a positive company image
