Patient Transport Associate - FT (Evening)- Jefferson Lansdale
About The Position
The schedule for this position is 2:30p-11p rotating weekends and Holidays. This role involves transporting patients to their inpatient beds and/or to other areas such as surgery, therapy, or radiology in a safe and timely manner. The associate will also maintain and clean equipment, and comply with established PPE requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation, and other hazardous substances. Adherence to all Infection Control Policies, such as Hand Hygiene and Equipment Decontamination, is required.
Requirements
- High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent required
- BLS - Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association required
Responsibilities
- Transport patients to their inpatient beds and/or to other areas such as surgery, therapy, or radiology in a safe and timely manner.
- Maintain and clean equipment.
- Comply with established PPE requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation, and other hazardous substances.
- Abide by all Infection Control Policies i.e. Hand Hygiene, Equipment Decontamination.
- Includes lifting and moving patient, movement to designation with appropriate equipment.
- Monitor patient's status enroute and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Decontaminates equipment after each transport in compliance with the Equipment Contamination Policy.
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital.
