Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current BLS certification through the RQI system during clinical orientation
  • CPI certification within six months of hire
  • Ability to successfully complete EKG tracing, medical record retrieval, and patient one-to-one training within the first month

Responsibilities

  • Safely transporting patients throughout the hospital using wheelchairs, beds, and stretchers
  • Assisting with the transportation of medically complex patients alongside nursing personnel
  • Performing EKG tracings following appropriate procedures
  • Retrieving and delivering medical records, equipment, supplies, and specimens
  • Cleaning and redistributing wheelchairs, stretchers, and other transport equipment
  • Responding promptly to patient transport requests and communicating delays when necessary
  • Assisting patients and visitors by providing friendly, professional customer service and helping them locate hospital departments
  • Supporting nursing and patient care teams with a variety of direct and indirect patient care activities
  • Responding to emergency alerts and assisting as needed
