You’ll work directly with patients, prepare them for their eye examinations, perform important diagnostic testing, and assist our optometrists and ophthalmologists with patient care. Responsibilities

  • Welcome and prepare patients for their eye examinations while creating a positive, comfortable experience.
  • Explain preliminary testing procedures and help patients understand what to expect during their visit.
  • Perform preliminary and ancillary testing and obtain accurate patient histories and information for the doctor.
  • Assist optometrists and ophthalmologists with examinations and patient procedures.
  • Help coordinate patient scheduling and maintain an efficient flow throughout the office.
  • Communicate appropriately with patients and team members when delays or changes occur.
  • Prepare, clean, and maintain examination rooms and clinical equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory of medications, supplies, and other clinical materials.
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming environment for patients and coworkers.
  • Support the clinical team with additional responsibilities as assigned by the office manager, team lead, or physicians.
