This is a Per Diem position with a minimum of 32 hours per month, requiring one weekend per month and one Everbridge pick-up per month. Availability is needed between 6pm-6am, with short notice availability preferred. The role involves creating the initial electronic health record, preventing duplicate records, and ensuring patient safety through proper identification. Responsibilities include checking in and registering patients, obtaining and verifying demographic and insurance information, collecting co-pays, and maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA. The position requires knowledge of insurance basics, contracted plans, and financial obligations, with the ability to refer patients to Financial Advocates when necessary. The role also involves ensuring compliance with government regulations such as HIPAA, EMTALA, and others, obtaining necessary signatures, and potentially scheduling appointments. Providing accurate information about test preparations and arrival times, creating a welcoming environment, answering phones, and assisting patients with various needs are also key duties. The role includes monitoring and working assigned electronic health record work queues.
