About The Position

Provides direct patient care as assigned. May involve access to non-prescription medications and performing procedures using them. This role involves communicating pertinent information to appropriate personnel, patients, and family members in a timely manner, maintaining accurate paper and electronic documentation, and utilizing equipment and supplies safely and appropriately. The technician will also order supplies as needed, label specimens correctly, perform basic nursing care, simple and complex procedures, multiple treatments, waived testing, and transport assigned patients. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

• Completion of a Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Tech, Medical Assistant or Nursing Fundamentals course.
• Skills necessary to care for patients.
• Heart saver certification.

Nice To Haves

• Previous nursing assistant, medical assistant or related experience preferred.
• In lieu of the education and experience requirements noted above, the following combination of education, training and/or experience may be considered an equivalent substitution: required coursework, will accept 1 year of related healthcare experience.
• Nursing assistant training course, will accept current or former state CNA certification as proof of completed state required training at time of hire.
• School verification of a medical assistant training course, will accept current or former CMA certification as proof of completed required training at time of hire.
