About The Position

Dedicated to providing compassionate, continuous observation for patients at risk of harming themselves or others, ensuring their safety and well-being. This non-clinical role focuses on creating a secure and supportive environment by preventing falls, managing impulsive behaviors, and de-escalating distress. With a caring presence, the sitter offers gentle assistance with mobility, toileting, repositioning, and eating or drinking. Through meaningful conversation and engaging activities, they foster comfort, reassurance, and a positive connection with patients.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and appropriately.
• Ability to maintain focus and provide continuous observation for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a sitter for patients in an acute care or residential setting.
• Non-violent crisis intervention experience.
