The Patient Services Specialist will exemplify caring and compassionate customer service to create an excellent patient experience. This role requires exemplary interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with patients and families in a wide variety of sensitive situations. The specialist will demonstrate critical thinking skills and decisive judgment in an often-hectic environment, with the ability to work cohesively on a team and independently with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include managing patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, collection and cash receipting, and front desk activities. The role also involves encouraging patient utilization of front-end technology, entering and maintaining confidential patient information, assisting with billing functions, and demonstrating proficiency in emergency codes and healthcare regulations. Monitoring inventory of medications and emergency equipment is also a key function.
