About The Position

The Patient Service Specialist is responsible for receiving new referrals and accurately initiating paperwork and computer admission. Provides direct assistance and support to pharmacists and reimbursement staff. Participates in licensed pharmacy functions under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist. Interacts with patients, home care staff, and physicians to coordinate and perform patient supply management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/ GED
• Active Pharmacy Technician license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) validated by Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association.
• Interpersonal skills for effective verbal and written communication.

Nice To Haves

• One year of intravenous admixture compounding experience.
• Maintains a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to use and operate medical and/or office equipment.
• Experience working with government and accrediting agency officials.
