About The Position

This role is for a Patient Services Specialist at Atrium Health Richfield Family Medicine. The position is full-time, working 40 hours per week with a schedule of 7:30 am to 5:00 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. The pay range is $19.80 to $29.70 per hour. The specialist is expected to exemplify caring and compassionate customer service, provide exemplary interpersonal skills, demonstrate critical thinking and decisive judgment, and manage patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, collection, and cash receipting. They will also encourage patient use of front-end technology, enter and maintain confidential patient information, assist with billing functions, demonstrate proficiency in emergency codes and healthcare regulations, and monitor inventory of medications and equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Computer experience required
  • Customer relations experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Medical Records Software preferred
  • Front desk practice experience preferred

  • Manages patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, collection and cash receipting, arrival and/or departure desk activities according to standards and guidelines ensuring accuracy and an outstanding patient experience
  • Encourages patient utilization of front-end technology during the registration process
  • Enters and maintains confidential and accurate patient information including patient insurance, billing, and payment information throughout patient encounter
  • Assists billing functions accurately and/or directs to appropriate billing office
  • Demonstrates proficiency of emergency codes and appropriate responses as well as applicable federal and state healthcare regulations
  • Monitors inventory and stock medications, narcotics, and emergency medications/equipment
