About The Position
The Patient Services Representative is responsible for greeting patients and visitors, managing call queues and lobby wait times, maintaining patient confidentiality, and ensuring accurate patient accounts. This role involves data entry for insurance information, scheduling appointments, collecting payments, and assisting with paperwork. The representative will also handle patient portal registration, respond to medical record requests, and resolve workflow issues within the Epic system.

Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors on the phone or in person with professionalism representing the Gritman Way
- Maintain a positive attitude and work well with all staff and departments
- Monitor call queue and/or lobby for wait times or issues
- Protect patient rights by maintaining strict confidentiality
- Enter quality phone notes/patient cases and prepare end of day deposit reconciliation paperwork
- Maintain accurate and complete patient accounts
- Perform quality data input of insurance information
- Appropriately schedule appointments
- Obtain appropriate information from patients for new and existing accounts
- Keep the reception area clean
- Maintain a balanced cash drawer
- Consistently demonstrate AIDET
- Register patients for the portal
- Perform opening and closing tasks
- Collect copays/outstanding balances
- Assist in the preparation of proper paperwork for appointment/chart prep
- Respond to simple face-to-face medical record requests from patients
- Review and research patient concerns/complaints
- Work with Epic to problem solve workflow issues when a patient is having difficulty checking in
- Manage patient appointment confirmation through Epic
