About The Position

UPMC Children's Community Pediatrics is hiring a Limited Part-Time Patient Services Representative to support the office in South Fayette. This role requires weekend and evening availability to support the clinic's hours of operation, which are 4:30 PM - 9 PM Monday-Friday, 11:30 AM - 8 PM Saturday, and 9:30 AM - 6 PM Sunday. The position involves direct patient interaction, scheduling, providing support, utilizing technology, financial advocacy, ensuring compliance, and performing administrative tasks.

Requirements

• Completion of high school or equivalent.
• Experience with personal computer-based applications, various office equipment, and proficient typing skills preferred.
• Two years of experience in a medical, billing, fiscal, or customer service role preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Prior experience with Medipac, Epic, or other health records systems preferred.
• Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, Act 73.

Nice To Haves

• Registration and EPIC experience preferred.
• Experience with personal computer-based applications, various office equipment, and proficient typing skills preferred.
• Two years of experience in a medical, billing, fiscal, or customer service role preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Prior experience with Medipac, Epic, or other health records systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, assist with check-in, collect copayments, and update information.
• Arrange follow-up appointments and connect patients to services.
• Help patients navigate the healthcare system and provide clear instructions.
• Register patients in Biometrics and promote MyUPMC portal.
• Educate patients on financial responsibilities and connect them to resources.
• Verify insurance, obtain consent signatures, and follow HIPAA regulations.
• Handle phone calls, scan records, and perform office duties.
