Responsible for aspects of front office management and operation as assigned. This role involves complete and accurate patient registration, pre-certification, charge capture, and coding diagnoses. It also includes posting payments, balancing reports, managing patient finances, and acting as a liaison between patients and medical staff. The position requires excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of public contact. Responsibilities include greeting patients, verifying insurance information, obtaining necessary signatures, assisting patients with mobility issues, maintaining appointment schedules, providing phone support, screening visitors, and processing outpatient charges. The role also involves cashiering functions, preparing deposits, receiving payments, and working with patients on financial agreements. Additionally, it includes assisting with outpatient coding, resolving billing issues, updating patient databases, scheduling appointments and admissions, answering patient questions, assembling charts, overseeing the waiting area, and processing benefit correspondence and insurance forms. The representative will follow up with insurance companies to ensure coverage approval, maintain patient account records, confirm workers’ compensation claims, prepare disability claims, and follow up on claim payments. The role requires gathering and verifying superbills, entering charge and payment information, printing and balancing daily reports, and backing up computer files. New patients will be registered, and financial information updated, maintaining strict confidentiality. The position requires a neat and professional appearance, a commitment to service, and adherence to office guidelines.
