About The Position

This role involves collecting specimens, managing patient data, and ensuring accurate billing and processing. The Patient Services Representative/Phlebotomist will be responsible for a variety of tasks including specimen collection, data entry, customer service, and adhering to company policies and procedures. The position requires excellent phlebotomy skills, the ability to work independently, and flexibility in scheduling.

Requirements

  • Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric.
  • Flexible and available based on staffing needs, which includes weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
  • One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, blood samples, and processing pathology and cytology samples.
  • Research test/client information and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders.
  • Complete all data entry requirements accurately, including patient registration and test order entry from requisitions.
  • Enter billing information and collect payments, safeguarding assets and credit card information.
  • Perform data entry and process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing.
  • Work iLabs for assigned accounts daily to ensure accurate data for billing.
  • Provide necessary CIR and PPE Resolution reporting to Director.
  • Perform departmental-related clerical duties such as data entry, inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones.
  • Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Perform verification of patient demographic info/initials and patient signature post-venipuncture.
  • Assist with compilation and submission of monthly statistics and data.
  • Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner.
  • Complete training courses and stay up-to-date with the latest phlebotomy techniques.
  • Travel to Territory Manager meetings if held off-site or off normal shift.
  • Participate in special projects and teams.
  • Stay up-to-date on company communications.
