About The Position

This position is responsible for collecting specimens, performing data entry, and providing excellent customer service. The role involves various administrative and technical tasks related to laboratory services, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures. The individual will also be responsible for maintaining logs, completing training, and potentially traveling for meetings.

Requirements

  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
  • One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collect specimens including drug screens, blood samples, and processing pathology and cytology samples.
  • Research test/client information and verify orders using lab technology systems or directory of services.
  • Accurately complete all data entry requirements, including patient registration and test order entry from requisitions.
  • Enter billing information and collect payments, safeguarding assets and credit card information.
  • Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as required.
  • Work iLabs daily for assigned accounts to ensure accurate data for billing.
  • Provide CIR and PPE Resolution reporting to the Director as required.
  • Perform departmental-related clerical duties such as data entry, inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones.
  • Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures, ensuring staff adherence.
  • Verify patient demographic information and initials, including patient signature post-venipuncture, to confirm correct labeling.
  • Assist with the compilation and submission of monthly statistics and data.
  • Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs (e.g., maintenance, temperature) in a timely manner.
  • Complete training courses and stay up-to-date with the latest phlebotomy techniques.
  • Travel to Territory Manager meetings if held off-site or off normal shift.
  • Participate in special projects and teams.
  • Stay up-to-date on company communications.
