About The Position

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager and/or Assistant Nurse Manager, this position’s primary function is to process referral requests, obtain authorization for outpatient infusion services and treatments, and coordinate all aspects of the admission process if applicable. The responsibilities of the Patient Services Coordinator include data entry of referrals and authorizations, verification of eligibility and daily communication with insurance companies. The Patient Service Coordinator works closely with the clinical team and medical providers offices to provide care for our patients in a timely manner. Will also be responsible for registering patients for infusions/treatments. The purpose of this position is to provide our patients with a seamless experience while following all UHS Policies regarding registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and billing. You may be required to assist with patient care tasks under the direction of a licensed nurse and/or practitioner, physician or other authorized health care provider.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years' experience working in healthcare OR Two (2) years' experience working in customer service or direct patient care
  • Proficient PC skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
