Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers (RMCC), Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Patient Service Coordinator in Lakewood. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 3 years of office experience, medical office experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with computer systems is a requirement.
  • Ability to pass a background check and non-federal drug test (excluding marijuana) post-offer of employment and prior to hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft (Outlook, Word, and Excel) proficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules new patients and return appointments in the computer system according to physician and/or office guidelines. Cancels/reschedules appointments based on physician schedule changes and notifies appropriate clinic personnel.
  • Obtains and enters all authorization and correspondence related to referrals into patient charts and the computer system.
  • Schedules outpatient appointments/testing and hospital admissions as requested.
  • Obtains necessary pre-certification as required.
  • Handles new patient referrals, gathers necessary information, assigns patient account numbers, and schedules appointments.
  • Collects co-pays, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket amounts at the time of visit.
  • Maintains the primary office scheduling book, which includes all physician meetings, satellite schedules, rounding, and call coverage.
  • Handles incoming phone calls from patients needing to schedule or reschedule appointments.
  • Provides patients with accurate and legible appointment cards. Documents no-shows in patient charts for missed visits and follows up with patients to reschedule missed appointments.
  • Arranges for patients to receive financial counseling as needed.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and the clinic/corporation.
  • Follows policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the front office.
  • Covers for other front office functions as requested.
